Pathways are like options or journeys you take to get from point A to point B. Just like searching for directions on your phone, these college and career pathways can help give you a map to get you where you want to go.

Dual Enrollment

Possible Pathways
Dual Enrollment
Get a jump start on earning college credit by enrolling in a Dual Enrollment class that can count toward your post-secondary degree.
Associates Degree
Obtaining an undergraduate degree which generally takes 2-3 years and requires a minimum of 60 completed units of college course work.
Transfer from Community College to Bachelors Degree
Obtaining an undergraduate by first completing about 60 units at a community college and then transferring to a 4-year university college to complete the remaining 60-70 units.
Bachelors Degree
Obtaining an undergraduate degree at a 4-year university/college and requires about 120-130 completed units of college course work.
Career Technical Education
Completing a program of training for a specific, practice-based skill that often provides a certification in technology, hospitality, science, arts, health care, construction, and others.
Military Science & Leadership
Joining one of the U.S.’ military branches: Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard.
Graduate Degree
Continue your education with a graduate level degree such as a master's degree or doctoral degree to become an expert in your chosen field.
PATHWAY REQUIREMENTS AT A GLANCE

Community College Pathway Requirements

Score of Level 3 "Standard Met" or higher on both English Language Arts/literacy (ELA) and math

Pathway completion with a grade of "C-" or better in the capstone course plus one of the additional criteria below

Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments: Level 3 or higher in English Language Arts (ELA)/literacy and at least a Level 2 in math, OR Level 3 or higher in math and at least a Level 2 in ELA

One semester/two quarters/two-trimesters of college credit courses with a grade of "C-" or better in academic/CTE subjects where college credits are awarded for each course
Career Technical Education Pathway Requirements

Complete A-G course requirements with a grade of C- or better plus one of the additional criterial below

Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments: Level 3 or higher in English Language Arts (ELA)/literacy and at least a Level 2 in math, OR Level 3 or higher in math and at least a Level 2 in ELA

One semester/two quarters/two-trimesters of college credit courses with a grade of "C-" or better in academic/Career Technical Education (CTE) subjects where college credits are awarded for each course

Score of 3 on one Advanced Placement (AP) exam or score; I believe the AP needs a “®“ since it is a trademark

Completion of Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway
